Our Students Met the New Generation Representatives of World Cinema at the Bosphorus Film Festival
In collaboration with IHU Media Center and IHU Cinema Club, our students had the opportunity to meet young filmmakers from different countries through various events.

This year, the 12th edition of the Bosphorus Film Festival brought numerous local and international films together with film enthusiasts in Istanbul. Between October 18 and 25, Ibn Haldun University students had the chance to watch a wide range of films, including short and feature-length, fiction, and documentary films. Undergraduate and graduate students, as well as faculty members, benefited from the festival's wealth of knowledge by attending screenings and discussion sessions.

Through an organization by IHU Media Center and IHU Cinema Club, students followed screenings at the Atlas Cinema and AKM Yeşilçam Cinema, where they also had the chance to ask questions to film crews during discussions.

After the screenings, some of the Q&A sessions were moderated by our School of Communication academics. The Boğaziçi Film Festival has become an important platform that caters to our students' growing intellectual interest in cinema.

Another significant platform for our students was the panel held at our university's cinema hall, where filmmakers from different parts of the world met with our students. From the festival's International Short Film Competition, Alireza Kazemipour, the director of the Iranian and Canadian co-production "Hatch"; Weyal Bariz, the lead actor of the British film "Keep"; Gunnur Martinsdóttir Schlüter, the director and lead actress of the Icelandic film "Intrusion", Milorad Milatović, the director of the Croatian film "The Stranger"; and Juan Álamos, the producer of the Argentine film "The Major Tones", which competed in the International Feature Film category, all engaged in productive and warm conversations with our students about their films.
