Our New Media and Communication Students Visited GZT and TVNET
Our New Media and Communication students visited GZT and TVNET, where they listened to media professionals share their industry experiences and had the opportunity to closely observe the dynamics of the media world.

As part of the 'Social Media Marketing Strategies' course, our students organized a visit to Albayrak Media on Monday, April 14. The main focus of the visit was GZT, one of the leading brands in new media, and the TVNET studios.

Content Production Processes and Media Strategies at GZT

Students had the chance to closely observe GZT’s content production processes, media strategies, and day-to-day operations. Experienced editors at GZT shared insights into what it takes to succeed in the media sector. Their presentations emphasized the subtleties of content creation and the impact of media strategies, providing students with a broad perspective on the dynamic nature of the media world. The importance of producing the right content in a rapidly changing media environment was especially underlined.

During a Q&A session, GZT Deputy Editor-in-Chief Suat Özdemir highlighted the necessity of understanding psychology and sociology for success in the media industry. Özdemir noted, “Psychology helps you understand what makes people happy and what triggers their reactions. Sociology allows you to understand the dynamics of society and produce content accordingly.” He encouraged future media professionals to take both disciplines into account in their work. He also used the metaphor of "glass towers" to describe the media sector, stating: “Every day, stones are thrown at those towers. When you make a mistake, the structure you’ve worked on for years can easily collapse,” underscoring the importance of caution in the field.

Professional Media Experience at TVNET Studios

In the next part of the visit, students toured the TVNET studios. There, they observed how various aspects of professional media—such as editing, post-production, live broadcasting, and visual design—are managed. These experiences provided students with valuable insights into the professional world of media. TVNET producer Muhammet Enes Dönmez also offered valuable advice for those seeking to build a successful media career. Some students expressed that this field trip increased their interest in the media sector and influenced them to shape their future career plans in this direction.

An Inspiring Field Experience

The Albayrak Media visit was an educational and inspiring experience for the students of Ibn Haldun University. The trip provided students who aim to build a career in new media with an essential perspective on the industry, offering valuable insights that will guide them in their future careers.
