Preparations for the upcoming term of the New Media Academy, operating under the Arnavutköy Municipality and taught by faculty members of the Ibn Haldun University School of Communication, were discussed during an official visit by a municipal delegation to our university on September 9, 2026. During the meeting, the curriculum delivered through our faculty’s academic contributions was reviewed, and prospective avenues for further collaboration were evaluated.
Our faculty members and program coordinators welcomed Serdar Kızıldağ, Arnavutköy Municipality’s Director of Press, Publications and Public Relations, and Kürşat Çağrı Taşdemir, General Coordinator of the New Media Academy. Participants exchanged views on the teaching plan and course content for the upcoming term.
The academy, which received an award in the “Next-Generation Media and Effective Communication” category at the 2026 Golden World Awards for Excellence organized by the International Public Relations Association (IPRA), offers practical training in 11 disciplines to participants in Arnavutköy.
Offering training across diverse fields including hosting and presenting, radio broadcasting, video editing, social media management, photography, and journalism, the academy has seen hundreds of participants graduate to date after successfully advancing their skills in the media sector.
