The Ibn Haldun Academy ’26 Closing Program and Award Ceremony was held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the historic Süleymaniye Darüşşifası. Organized under the theme “The Limits of Vision and Beyond”, the program brought together participants from different disciplines through seminars, talks, and panels over the course of six weeks.
The traditional article competition, held annually as part of Ibn Haldun Academy, attracted significant interest this year as well. A total of 36 academy participants applied to the competition, which was organized around the theme “The Limits of Vision and Beyond”. Of these submissions, 23 articles that met the formal requirements were evaluated by a jury composed of distinguished experts in their respective fields.
As a result of the evaluation, our MA in Radio, Television and Cinema student Fatma Özkaya Temizcan was awarded second prize for her article titled “Captivity of Mimesis: Aesthetic Armor and Objectification in Turkish Modernization”. The Ibn Haldun Academy Incentive Award was presented to Temizcan by Prof. Dr. Özcan Erkan Akgün, Vice Rector of Ibn Haldun University.
As the School of Communication, we congratulate our student on this meaningful achievement and wish her continued success in her academic endeavors.
