The book chapter titled “Digital Literacy as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karanfiloğlu, Chair of the Department of New Media and Communication at our university’s School of Communication, has been published by Springer.

The book chapter titled “Digital Literacy as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development”, authored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Karanfiloğlu, Chair of the Department of New Media and Communication at the School of Communication, Ibn Haldun University, which explores the role of digital literacy in global sustainability efforts, has been included in the volume “Digital Literacy as a Catalyst for Critical Thinking”, published by Springer. 

In this study, Karanfiloğlu examines the dynamic relationship between digital literacy and sustainable development, exploring the potential of digital tools and platforms to increase environmental awareness, support the adoption of green technologies, and strengthen multi-stakeholder collaboration. Additionally, he provides concrete recommendations for educators, policymakers, and technology providers on integrating digital literacy into sustainability strategies. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Karanfiloğlu’s chapter titled “Digital Literacy as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development” was published online on October 1, 2025, and appears on pages 155–188 of the book.
