Arnavutköy Municipality's New Media Academy Training Successfully Completed
The first term of courses at the New Media Academy, established through a cooperation protocol signed between Ibn Haldun University and Arnavutköy Municipality, has been completed.

Following the cooperation protocol signed on September 16, 2025 between Arnavutköy Municipality and Ibn Haldun University, the joint “New Media Academy Training Program” has been successfully completed. The program offered comprehensive training designed to equip young people interested in the evolving media landscape with practical skills in areas such as journalistic principles, digital literacy, visual storytelling, cinematic writing, and photography techniques. Faculty members from the Department of New Media and Communication at Ibn Haldun University also contributed to the Academy’s curriculum.

Associate Professor Mehmet Karanfiloğlu, the department chair, taught the screenwriting sessions, explaining how a story is constructed and the essential stages of developing an effective script. Lecturer Abdülhamit Bolat led the photography training, introducing the core principles of visual communication and key aspects of the production process through hands-on examples. Research Assistant Kaan Şentürk taught the New Media and Journalism course, where he introduced students to foundational journalistic approaches as well as current dynamics in the new media field.

These trainings were organized to help young participants from Arnavutköy strengthen their media competencies and gain the skills necessary for their professional development. Participants who complete the program will receive a certificate recognizing the knowledge and abilities they acquired throughout the Academy.

Through this collaboration, Ibn Haldun University and Arnavutköy Municipality continue to strengthen the bridge between academia and real-world media production, contributing meaningfully to the community.
