Emin Gökçegözoğlu and Ahmet Ocaklı from TRT Haber attended the panel titled “Journalism in the Digital Age”. The panel held at Journalist Shireen Abu Akleh Studio on Thursday, December 22, at 11:00 and moderated by Dr. Hakkı Öcal. The evolution of journalism in the age of the internet and social media was discussed in the program.
The structural effects of technology on the production and consumption processes of news were discussed in the panel. It was underlined that internet news sites, which replace newspapers, also bear the same responsibility of producing original and reliable news.
The audience also contributed the event with their questions and comments. The panel ended with the presentation of the participation certificates by Izzet Bozkurt, Dean of Ibn Haldun University School of Communication, and Yusuf Ziya Çataklı, Chairman of the Communication Platform Association.
